Charming traditional village pub, friendly staff, lovely food, generous portions
Friendly staff and a fairly comprehensive traditional menu. At lunchtime our party of 23 got a prompt service even though they had requested a varied selection of meals. No car park but a free one within 70 yards.
Charming interior, friendly landlord, dog friendly! Arrive early if you want food and havent booked, as they kindly fitted our order in but the kitchen staff were nearly maxed out. Good cider. Good ham egg and chips. Reasonable veggie lasagne.
Very pleasant village pub with history. Decent selection of ales and spirits - shame I was driving! Food was good and portion size was spot on. I had the fishcakes off the specials board and wasn't disappointed.Only downside for me was that the urinals in the gents had been attached to the wall by someone who was 6'8" - I'm 5'6" (I'll leave it there!) and the hand drier only provided a gentle zephyr.Overall though I was satisfied with my visit and would definitely go again.
